It'll be such a hassle to create my own images or look for ones under creative commons/public domain online but it will be worth it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2249141384507760517.post-58675693698563347772012-07-27T15:11:20.767+10:002012-07-27T15:11:20.767+10:00Thanks for the tip, Kristen. For music, BTW, if you're doing a book trailer, say, I recommend jamendo.com. It has some wonderful music on it and most of it is free, donated by the artists. If they want payment, it says so. I have discovered a terrific group, Celestial Aeon Project, on that site, which is good for background to epic fantasy trailers. I also used a track for my class's
Literature Circles movie.Sue Bursztynskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09362273418897882971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2249141384507760517.post-4004010674648363192012-07-26T20:00:14.179+10:002012-07-26T20:00:14.179+10:00There is Creative Commons, where artists let you u...There is Creative Commons, where artists let you use their work free, giving different conditions. I do a lot of research on this because I have students who do stuff like book trailers. I discussed the matter with a librarian who knew more about it than I do, and she did say that as long as you acknowledge it's usually okay. Depends on the person. Flickr accounts usually tell you what rights they want and ŵhat you can do. Mostly I use book covers, for reviews, which is fine with the publisher, or a photo of the person doing a guest post/interview. When I do need something else I look very carefully on the site. My latest pic of a wolf came from a site that just asked you to acknowledge. And I did.Sue Bursztynskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09362273418897882971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2249141384507760517.post-11897636953915302952012-07-26T15:32:29.307+10:002012-07-26T15:32:29.307+10:00Been hearing a lot about this lately. It is still stealing.

BTW, my favorite site to find free and legal photos is from http://www.morguefile.com/. :)Kristen Eveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03311958096675391297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2249141384507760517.post-8964202814336038162012-07-26T13:25:17.839+10:002012-07-26T13:25:17.839+10:00It's scary now a days what you can and cannot ...It's scary now a days what you can and cannot post. Not many people are emotionally/mentally unstable enough to actually go through all that trouble. Being in a court of law in any country is so much hassle, it's hardly worth it over something so trivial. The person upset usually tells you to take it down or ask for permission properly, since it's so much easier.

Most people know the hassle of going to that extreme and don't bother, but there are a few who are really just crazy. I'll be a bit more careful, but I'm not going to delete every last image.
