GIVEAWAY With A Twist!

You guys may remember that I read and reviewed  Wolfborn by Sue Bursztynski last month as part of my 2011 Aussie Authors Challenge . I came across Wolfborn because Sue is part of one of my online YA readers/writer's groups and she happens to be a blogger as well.
Anyway, to cut a long story short,  I somehow grew the cojones to ask if she would do a guest post on my blog with a signed copy of her book for a giveaway. Unbeknownst to me, Sue is an amazingly generous and awesome human being and has come up with the idea that I should get my readers to send in questions for her to answer. You see, Sue has published heaps of books besides Wolfborn and I know that her insights have really given me some much need perspective.
So I'm putting the call out to all you guys, if you have any writing/publishing related questions or general questions about Wolfborn that you're dying to have answered feel free to post it in the comments or email me at lc.novel@gmail.com. Over the coming weeks, I'll be forwarding your questions to Sue and I'll do a couple of posts with her answers if I get enough!
***
And now for the giveaway bit. Sue is a smart and very logical lady and doesn't want to (in my words) waste the signed book on someone who won't enjoy it. So instead, Sue is offering sample chapters in PDF format to anyone who asks for it by emailing her at sbursztynski@gmail.com. I'll cap the emails and questions on Sunday 11 September otherwise this could get confusing. In the next few weeks, I'll be putting the entry form up along with the interview questions and anyone whose read and liked the book can enter to win the signed copy. The giveaway will be open internationally so all my followers can participate!!

So get cracking guys! I know I have a heap of questions to ask Sue that I haven't already grilled her about.

Don't forget to visit Sue at The Great Raven if you want more info on her other books and just to see how great she is!

Alana: I have to admit I was pretty stupid for making it sound like a writer only comp! It's not. Anyone can join in!

  6. Awesome! I don't think I have the guts to ask an author to ever guest post or offer a giveaway on my blog heh. Good luck with your giveaway! I've never heard of this book before, but I will consider entering for sure! =)

  7. Jinny, authors just love the promotion and are terribly flattered to be asked. I've been inviting a number of them to be interviewed on my own blog, by my high school students, members of my Book Club, and so far I've had only one outright refusal by the author who just didn't have the time - he was about to go on an overseas tour - and one from someone's agent, who didn't get that children and teens expect some communication from their heroes, unlike the adults for whom she had been writing. Otherwise, it's been absolutely fine. Go take a look on The Great Raven for interviews by Selena Wang and Thando Bhebe (another interview is on its way, when the author responds).

So far, I've had one email from this blog asking for a PDF sample - please do feel free to email me, everyone else! And when you get it - do share it. :-)

  8. I read a book by an Aussie author during the summer and I loved it. Looking forward to read your reviews. That would help choose my next book.

  9. What an awesome giveaway Lan. And how cool is that - Sue being open to participating in such a giveaway. I really like the idea of letting people try the opening chapters to see if they actually like it.

Im home in NZ now and slowly catching up on all the internet blogging buzz that I missed!
