My Name Is Lan And I'm A Bookaholic

Hey All,

It probably doesn't come as much of a surprise that I am a completely nuts about books. I'm proud to be a bookaholic and to celebrate my addiction, I've gone and done a guest interview. To stalk me and read my answers, click over to Bookaholics Anonymous . Don't forget to join the feature if you feel like owning up to your addiction like I did. I'd love to get to know my fellow bookaholics a little better.

  1. Hello, Lan. ;) Anywho, you know how I feel about the Obernewtyn books so I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

I'm not on Twitter either! Solidarity, baby! ;)

You should give me lessons on how to NOT buy books. I suck at it. :(

  2. Aww... That was so cute, Lan! Very funny, too. I can relate to most of your book addict qualities. I buy books to the point I go broke, and then take another year to actually read them! But, I've learned to reign that in, so I'm changing my ways.

You need to get on Twitter! I'm @catherinekeaton. It is really fun, especially doing Twitter parties.

  3. Very fun! :) I hear ya on the retail therapy...books have a way of hopping into my shopping cart when I'm out getting groceries or on other boring errands. Go for milk and eggs; come home with fiction...LOL

Ebooks have helped me cut back on that, though.

  4. Jenny: My book buying got to a point where I would just feel guilt when I walked past the TBR. Officially The Sending came out today. But I am making myself hold off until I reread the other books again.

Cathy: I don't think I could handle another social media outlet! I'm still getting the hang of goodreads. Baby steps :)

BJ: Ebooks are even worse because there's a bigger array of books to choose from! It's a sickness and we all need to be in a therapy group!

  5. Lol the 99 cent to 2.99 ebooks on amazon are what killed me before I lost my card.

  6. Ash: I know! I see .99 cents and it's sold! Evil...

  7. And boy does .99 cents add up quick. I especially hate the feature on kindle where you can go straight to the books from it and browse them and it tells you what you might like from your recent purchases. oh lordy! The first few months I had my kindle I went a little overboard so needless to say I have tons of books (Ya, classics, and some guides to writing) on it. (and some games)

  8. It's really deceiving isn't it? I know I'm an addict so I don't ever let myself go near the sales because I know once I start, I will be unstoppable.

  9. I loved it! (commented on it of course) My TBR pile on my nook is getting almost as big as the stacks in my room. (I must make a confession...I am preordering Shatter Me today...cant help myself)

  10. Great answers! I could never read before bed like others, as if the book is good, I wind up staying up all night to finish it! Love your answers!

  11. Sherre: How can you resist those e-books when they're so cheap sometimes? Book blogging doesn't help either because everyone gets so excited about books and it's hard not to get all caught up!

Alexia: That's why I don't read before bed anymore. Reading is too stimulating!

  13. Great interview, Lan. Well done! I have to confess I'm also addicted to YA but in a very special vintage: 50s and 60s juveniles. SF, sports, historical. Is there any hope for me?
