Blogspiration: Staying Motivated

Last night I had an epiphany. I spend way too much time moaning about blogging and writing when really, they are some of the most fulfilling things in my life. I was going to start up my own meme but why would I do that when the amazing ladies at Saz101 and GrowingUp YA have done it for me! Enter Blogspiration where I will vent some of my positive energy instead of the insecurities I'm constantly spread. I don't know if the rules say I'm allowed to write a massive post to go with the inspirational pic but I claim newbie ignorance this time!

I didn't particularly enjoy the movie Love Happens, but I did spend the whole time lusting over Jennifer Aniston's pretend career as a florist with the coolest shop imaginable.  I mean, she had old french display cases converted into flower coolers. That is beyond awesome.
One day when I am super famous and totally rich, I am going to open a florist/cafe/library. It'll be a quaint little place that smells like fresh flowers and coffee and baked bread and cookies. Where people can browse and read for as long as they like. The store will be stocked with books I like to read, foods I like to eat, flowers I adore and best of all, in the down time, I can write till my heart is content. Come to think of it, these seems like very selfish inspirations. Oh well :) It's my blogspiration and I'll dream if I want to!

Have a great week guys!

  1. Lan, I LOVE the idea of you opening a florist shop/library/etc! I'm fascinated by flowers and what they mean. I adored Love Happens, and I loved that Jennifer's character was a florist.

    DREAM BIG! :)

    1. I'm obsessed with flowers too. Though I am more a gardener than a florist these days. Am trying to dream as big as I can!

  3. That's a great dream to have. ^_^ Looking forward to stuff like that can keep you motivated. There are a lot of little things I would love to have someday (like something as silly as a weeping willow in my yard, and a hammock, lol), and I'll think of those things to cheer myself up.

    Stay positive! :D

    1. I've always wanted a weeping willow too! But then I read it was bad feng shui because it symbolises death and sorrow. Way to kill a dream. I'd still get it regardless. It just reminds me of the movie My Girl so much. I want a hammock now!

    1. Yeah! In this dream I am rich enough to fly my blogging friends over for the day!

  5. It's not selfish when you'd be making lots of other people happy too!
I like this dream. Especially the assumption that you WILL be rich and famous someday.
Also, I nearly always ramble on about whatever I've posted in my blogspiration posts... and neither Saz nor Kristin seem to mind.

    1. Hehehe this is one of the tamer dreams that I have. It's nice to get all wrapped up in the positive instead of being deathly afraid of the negative reviews.

    1. You are the only person who could probably realistically go to said store if it ever opened!

  7. Lannnnnn! I LOVE IT! AND YES! WHAT ALEX SAID! Rambling is not only not minded, but ENCOURAGED! Especially when the rambler in question is so damn brilliant ^__^

OK, seriously, I have NOT seen Love Happens, but the shop! AAAAAAAAAAAH! WANT! Wouldn't it be lovely just to exist in such a beautiful space? *sigh*

    I like your dreams :D

    1. Thanks for letting me be me Sarah. Love Happens was so so. But I keep watching it for the flower scenes. I just adore the idea of putting together a bunch of happiness. That's what flowers are to me. Flowers and Book? Heaven.

    2. Hehe... well... err... rambling, I'm hardly one to judge :P
Plus, I really do adore your rambligns :D

Also, I like your algebra: flowers + books + food = happiness ♥

  9. That sounds like it'd be a really cool place to hang out! Dreams are important to dream about. A vivid dream can sometimes motivate us to take action and make the dream a reality. ;)

I'm going to have to look into this meme. I'm in serious need of something to blog about on my writer blog!

    1. I have very grand dreams. Like writing on the set of the movie of my book while Ben Barnes is rehearsing lines with Sarah Michelle Gellar!

Whenever I don't have anything to blog about I just take a look at my MS and pick something I am agonizing over. It works every time!

  10. Ohmygosh, Lan, I swear we're like long lost twins. My husband and I have been planning/dreaming since before we were married that when I sell millions of books we will open our own bakery/cafe/library/bookstore. Lol. Flowers sound like an awesome addition to that too, but unfortunately I kill all living plants so I'll leave that one for you. I'll visit yours if you visit mine. :) Looking forward to more of these posts.

    1. Kristen you should so do this! It's like creating our own fairyland for adults. Part of me just wants to bring back the humble bookstore somehow. I've got the plants all covered :)

  11. Those are definitely NOT selfish aspirations, Lan! Opening a cafe or a library or floral shop would be beneficial to anyone who visited them -- I've always wanted to have my own cafe too, where I would know all the customers by name and know their usual orders. Sort of like in TV shows LOL :') I haven't seen the movie Love Happens yet, but I'm really intrigued now -- if not just for the beautiful-looking cafe hehe! x)

Wonderful blogspiration post, Lan! I'm so happy you're joining this blogspiration meme! ;) <3

    1. Imaging swinging by a store like that on the way home from school/work? It'd just be an oasis of calm. Doesn't TV make coffee shops so glamorous?? I'm sure in real life everyone is stressed out, but in my world things are always nice.

  14. Hahaha...I LOOOOVE your dreams!! Will you supply me with free coffee and baked goodies?? Because as long as you do, you'll have my support :D

    Great Blogspiration post!! Welcome :)

  15. I love your dream, Lan! I would adore the same thing. Only someone else would have to be in charge of the flowers since I know nothing about them :)

  18. I want to open a yoga/spa/cafe/bookstore. Wouldn't that be fun? Those bookshelves would fit in very nicely in my relaxing "day spa." :)

  19. Aww, I've always dreamed of owning a book store or florist too! Hm, I think I should add cafe where I can provide good atmosphere for author and readers to my list of dream! It's definitely not a selfish wish, Lan, especially since you're wishing for a place where other people can take benefit too, like a library! Someday, I sure would give your dream store a visit! ;)

PS: I'm so so so sorry I haven't commented on your blog lately! I got sick these past few days. :(

  20. I would love to own a book store or my own little store. I haven't seen this movie but it looks cute! I have never really thought of becoming a florist but I think it would be nice to be surrounded by nature! Great post Lan!

  21. It all sounds wonderful and I, too, have dreamed, but someone else would have to do the business side of it for me, because I am useless there. I can't even do my own tax return, let alone a BAS statement. So I'll come to your shop instead, Lan, and write over a pot of tea and a muffin, only don't forget the Wifi hotspot! ;-)

  22. I love that idea! It combines all the good, relaxing things ever. Assuming there are comfy chairs for the occasional "this book is so good but somehow I managed to fall asleep" nap. :)
