Follow Friday (12): Book Body Snatcher!

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkie and Alison. It's a really fun way to get to know other bloggers and pick up a few new followers on the way.

This week's question is: If you could pick one character in a book, movie or television show to swap places with, who would it be?

At the moment, I am trying to think of a character I want to be, but I keep coming up with reasons why their lives are pretty messed up. This is what happens when your favourite books are paranormal/dystopian YA. I think I might have to go the opposite way and say Laura Ingalls Wilder because I'd love to see what life would be like in pioneer times :)

What did you guys pick this week? Drop me a comment and let me know!

  1. You know how easy of a question this is for me. Believe it or not I tried to stay away from the obvious choice of mine.

  2. Hi & Happy Friday!

    My FF,

    Have a nice weekend, Sharon

  3. OMG, I love Little House on the Prairie! I used to come home from school and rush to get my homework done just so I could watch the back to back episodes on The Hallmark Channel. NONE of my friends understood my obsession with that show. So I'd be right there with you, bonnet and all, in Walnut Grove

  4. Hopping through. It'd be cool to be Laura. Although her life had a lot of problems too. But a lot of good sides as well.
    My Hop

  5. I agree about characters lives being messed up, there are so many i would love to be but i don't think i could deal with the stuff they have to do to get their happy ending *le sigh*
That's why i reckon being Anna or Lola from Stephanie Perkin's books would be a great compromise :)
Have an awesome weekend, and stop by if you can!

  6. Fairytale Nerd: Thanks for the follow!

Ash: I can already tell what your answer is!

    Sharon: Happy Friday!

Kristan: Don't you love this whole series? I don't know why but something about the vast prairie makes me feel so free :)

Alison: I agree, Laura has so problems but I think that they're much more manageable than vampires and Hunger Games so I had to go with her life!

Imo: Thanks for stopping by. Haven't read Anna or Lola yet but def plan to!

  7. Laura would be a great character to swap place with but I also agree with you on the characters lives being messed up. Great answer!

    My FF:

  8. I wouldn't mind going back to the prairie days. It seemed so much simpler then. Being Laura would be cool. She always kept things a little interesting.

Thanks for following. I followed back :)

  9. We have similar answers. Looks like we read the same sort of stuff w/ messed up characters.

  10. You aren't the fist person I've seen to pick Laura. Good choice! I love your blog. The background words are my favorite! I'm a new follower. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

    Happy Friday!

  11. This is the most unique answer I've seen! Pioneer life would definitely be a challenge.

  12. laura, that's cool. I wondered that too, except I'm not marrying anyone as young as they did then.

  13. What a great choice! And as much fun as dystopian is to READ, I definitely wouldn't want to live there!

  14. Good choice! I love the show, still need to read the books. :P

    Happy Follow Friday!

  15. I loved your answer. It's true dystopian and paranormal reads can make for difficult lives.

  16. Yeah, I expected my choice to be from a paranormal book, because I'd love to have superpowers. But then I remembered almost everyone from those worlds has pretty traumatic lives. I wouldn't want to go back to Little House times, though - I couldn't live without the internet!

  17. I went with Celia Bowen from The Night Circus, but I like your choice. Happy Friday!

  18. It's funny because in real life I consider myself a pretty low key person. But I feel like if I were going to switch I would want some excitement.

My FF- Book Briefs (5 giveaways going on right now, including a Kobo e-reader!)

  19. Never heard of this author, but that doesn't meen anything, can't now every in the world, plus most books don't show up in my country.

    Hopping back.

  20. I LOVED the Little House on the Prairie series in elementary school. Laura was totally my hero!

  21. I don't have a follow post up but stopping by to say a big hello... HELLO!

I do have a sweet post up with Steampunkery Dresses up :D

    Mad Scientist!

  22. Sagacity: I'd love to live an exciting life like most of my fav YA MC's but in all honestly, I am too lazy to survive that kinda world!

Amy: I'm being very practical this week so simple is the best way to go.

Stephanie: Always good to find a blogger who reads similar stuff. Looking forward to sharing bookish things with you.

Aimee: Thanks! I have to give credit to who I took the background from!

Alissa & Sidne: Yeah pioneer days were a bit tough but not as tough as killing vampires I would imagine! I think Laura chose to marry Almanzo even though her sister Mary kept telling her not to so I don't feel bad for her. He was a great catch :)

Peggy & Mrs Q: I could not live a dystopian lifestyle. Especially not the ones I've been reading!

Jessica: The books are awesome. Heaps better then the TV show. There's a lot of bit about the food they ate so I was sold in a second!

TG: You crack me up. I forgot about the internet thing. Although if you never knew about it I suppose you wouldn't miss it!

Rhiannon: I haven't read the Night Circus books but will check it out.

Michelle: Thanks for stopping by. I love excitement too but I get the feeling if I were being chased by zombies I'd crawl into a hole and cry.

Psique: It's a great series if you can get a hold of it.

Karen: Wasn't Laura so ahead of her time?!? I think she is so brave and such a battler.

  23. Mad Scientist: I saw the steampunk dress post last night but my stupid laptop was going so slow! Will come check it out now!

  24. I severely recommend the Dark-Hunter books for any fan of paranormal romance or supernatural whatnot! :D

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great weekend!

    Nora, The Bookery

  25. Ah, Little House! Such great books. I grew up with Laura, and have read the series to my kids as well. Timeless, sweet stories...

(...but I don't think I could survive without hot, running water!)

  26. Just stopping by ! thanks for following my blog ! following back :D

  27. Nora: I'll try and check out the Dark Hunter series.

BJ: Yeah hot running water is a big issue. I would give it up for that kind of wild existence though. And yet weirdly I hate camping. I think the sewerage issue the the bigger one for me.

    Ishita: Thanks for stopping by.

  28. HI! I'm a new follower stopping by from the hop! have a great weekend!

  29. I agree. I couldn't help thinking of bad things when I chose my characters too. Sucks! Check out mine!

  30. Carrie: I will def check out your blog. Hope your weekend is great too.

Sherre: I guess when it comes down to it, I am a big ol'chicken. Not very YA heroiney that's for sure. I'd make a great anti-hero though!

  31. Hi Lan, thanks for your follow. I'm now following you, too. Nice-looking blog! I'm looking forward to reading your posts.
