This weeks question: If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? And, why?
I think my answer to this question can be pretty much summed up by THIS POST. It encompasses my frustrations about MOCKINGJAY and *SPOILER* I just wanted Katniss and Gale to remain friends. Nothing more. I would be happy with just that.
This question is fantastic and I can't wait to hear what you guys have chosen. Happy Friday everyone!!
I give up I think I might have to add both the books to the read-a-thon thing I'm doing this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! Old follower here!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series and I really want to! I've seen these books quite a few times in FF, so now I'm even more interested! I need to bump these up in my TBR list!
Ash: Finally I've broken you! Read Read Read :)
ReplyDeleteLiza: You don't need to tell me you're an old follower lady! You're on my blogroll :) I'd love to hear what you think of these books since your reviews are fantastic!
Lan - as much as I liked the ending of Mockingjay, I also think you made some excellent points. As always!
ReplyDeleteLiza - I agree with Lan! Read them!! :)
Happy FF...
So true! They just completely split up and it was 100% ridiculous. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your spoiler. (I don't want to re-spoil down here.) I would have liked *something* different. Anything really where that (he) is concerned.
ReplyDeleteAnother series I haven't read yet! Thanks for stopping by my blog and following...I'm now following you!

After loving The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, I hated that I was so disappointed with Mockingjay. I definitely would have like to see things differently.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Hey Lan,
ReplyDeleteLike you said, it would've been nice for Katniss and Gale to remain friends, but I think he'd wanted more w/her since book 1. *shrugs* Someone else chose Mockingjay as well and *SPOILER* I agreed with her that I wish Finnick would've been there in the end. Really liked him.
Ninja Girl
I suppose if I ever decide to read that series I better stay far away from that post. lol
ReplyDeleteI think we're going to be seeing a lot of Mockingjay covers on this one today. You're review made me laugh. I felt the same way.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of Mockingjay complaints! I've heard this for awhile though. Happy Follow Friday! ^_^
ReplyDeleteMockingjay seems to be everyone's go-to answer this week. I'm feeling better by the second about passing on it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower.

COMPLETELY agree. Although I would change more than just the ending in Mockingjay *grumble grumble*
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading HG despite the rough ending. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. Have a great weekend!
Hopping through. I see what you mean about Gale and Katniss. It would have been nice for a better ending btw them.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
I picked THG too. Loved your review! It made me laugh a little in shared frustration!
ReplyDeleteHi All, thanks for stopping by an following. As usual blogger likes to play funny buggers on a Friday when we're all hopping around but I hope to make it to all your blogs and follow/comment. I think we should start a we want to change the endings to Breaking Dawn/Mockingjay petition...I wonder if Meyer/Collins would listen? ;P
ReplyDeleteHey there! Thanks for stopping by and following. Following back now. Skipped your post b/c I haven't read it. Seems like lots of people have though.

I actually really liked Mockinjay, but I always enjoy a good rant. :) I was never a big fan of Gale, so I thought the end to their relationship was realistic. Sometimes that just happens. But it seems like a lot of people are picking MJ or Breaking Dawn this week, so I know I'm in the minority.
ReplyDeleteOh well. Happy weekend!
Thanks, Lan, for stopping by my blog. I don't have Mockingjay in my TBR so I don't care about the spolier:) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back,
кєяo
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteI have seen a couple of people mention Mokingjay for this weeks question. It's not one I was too keen on adding to my tbr list, but after seeing the comments this week I am actually a little curious and might put it on my list for a rainy day.

I love the Hunger Games Series and I think there could be no better ending... but I agree with you, just that point--Gale and Katniss. I wish there was more explanation or closure between them. They should remain friends at least. Good point. =)
ReplyDeleteNew follower here. You have a pretty blog =)

My Friday Hops
Im so glad so many people share my opinion on Mockingjay! I thought that I was crazy after I finished the book for being dissatisfied with it! Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, I'm a new follower too. I totally agree with everyone who has posted about Mockingjay, there were so many things in it that I just didn't like that much compared to the other books.
ReplyDeleteHi, Lan!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for dropping by and commenting on my FF post, and then becoming a follower!! And I especially appreciate your compliment!! You made my day!!! Woot!!
I haven't read The Hunger Games trilogy yet, but I can relate to your disappointment. I hate it when a book doesn't end the way I was expecting it to!
Have a GREAT day!! : )
Sorry it took me so long to come by and comment. This weekend was crazy!
ReplyDeleteI was a little frustrated with Mockingjay too. But, I loved it, and I think other than fleshing out the time when Katniss and Peeta got back together, I'm happy with it.
