Gone Writing!

Hi All!

In my mad quest to try and get my blog to a respectable status, I have sorely neglected my writing. I plan to remedy that this weekend by going into a writing frenzy. My goals are:

1. One last edit before I lay IRON WILLED to rest.
2. Finish my synopsis.
3. Query at least 1 agent.

Considering my severe lack of attention span due to a mysterious cold virus, the above are probably very lofty goals. I will try my best to achieve them nonetheless.

What does this mean for the blog? Not much really, I'll still be around. Stalkers gotta stalk. But as you can see, I am not doing FF this week as it takes up a huge chunk of my weekends.

See you on the other side.

*PS. Some of you may be wondering at the lack of reviews posted lately. It's this darned only reviewing books I finished/liked rule. Books unfinished:

Wither (closed book too many times = not interested enough)
Firelight (Bella flashbacks. May pick it up again)
Gregor the Overlander (tried it for Suzanne Collins but couldn't get into it) and finally:
Reread Vampire Academy for kicks!

  1. I can't write a good synopsis for the life of me. Querying to an agent? That always sounds so exciting and scary to me. Good luck on your edit! I haven't even gotten to that part yet :(

  2. Sabrina, apparently I can't write a good synopsis for the life of me either! I've been at it for months and still I'm not happy with it. Yep, querying to an agent is super scary. Am expecting a lot of rejections but that's OK as long as one person says yes. All my limbs are crossed! When you get to this part, we will cringe together :)

  3. I am trying to send off a short story by the end of the month, but I am partly terrified. Not of rejection, but I get nervous that my writing is not ready.

I think reviewing is in a way good practice for writing a synopsis.

  7. I'm doing camp NaNoWriMo, I started off really strong but haven't written anything for almost 2 weeks. that 50,000 word target seems to be getting further away. I may follow your example and dedicate this weekend to writing. :D

    Good luck

  11. Beth: I've been rewriting for so long it feels like I can't come up with anything fresh! I think I am over thinking it way too much.

Elizabeth: Don't worry I won't forget about my stalkers. You guys are why I blog :)

Jenny & BJ: Thanks for the encouragement. I am thinking of posting a work in progress page so you guys can see what's I'm up to and let me know what you think.

Becky: I've heard on NaNoWriMo but haven't thought to join as I doubt very much I could write 50,000 words in a month! But then again, that's thinking negatively. Maybe I will join in November.

Ash: Wither is ok. The writing was good but I kind of felt it was going nowhere fast. Plus the characters were boring me. Firelight is good so I might finish it soon. Just too much "I love him, but I can't be with him..wahhh." VA will always be the best!

Alana: I read Catching Fire while I was reading Wither so maybe that's why it seemed to pale in comparison!

Lani: Yay1 You've finally got VA. Hope you love it like I do! Will stop obsessing too much and send something out. Dystel & Goderich Literary Management...here I come!

  12. I totally understand the feeling. This weekend is actually the first whole weekend off that I've had in a long time (where I didn't take a day off specifically FOR something). I think I want to do the same myself, get stuff really accomplished. ^_^ Have a good weekend!

  13. Good luck with your writing! :)
(Also, I'm glad to find another person who isn't head over heels over Wither!)

  14. Jess: Yep. Write away without any need to stop because you've booked something else. I love that feeling.

Jinny: Thanks. You and I seem to be on the same wavelength about books!

  15. I know how that can feel Lan. I have a hard time lately with my endings.

  16. Lan: I agree about firelight. I've been wondering how the Va graphic novel is going to be. It'll be interesting to see the graphics. I need to try and see if I can sit down on a weekend and try and write in one of my stories. I've noticed in mine that I have way to much dialogue.I think it's because of the way I use to write in high school.

  17. Ash: I don't know why literary people knock dialogue. It's my favourite part of a book. Yes, write more of your book. I want to read more :)

Beth: Am just going to bite the bullet. Cannot be afraid forever!

  18. Lan- I'm not sure either I love being able to see what the characters are thinking and what they're talking about. Description to me can only take you so far.

I can probably put a few more pieces of that story up, but after that I'm at a stand point unless I can convince my friend to write some more for her characters. i think I have a part that tells about the night one of my characters changed, and then one I've been working on for awhile. I might go put that up.
